This weekend we kicked off a 3-week series called, "The End…Is It Near?”  Troy did an AMAZING job talking about what God’s Word says about the end times and making sure we’re ready.  If you missed it, you can click here to watch.  One of my favorite parts of the teaching was when Troy gave 3 reasons why we do what we do every weekend at Flamingo (in 22 services at 7 campuses), it is because:  

   •    Sin Destroys
   •    Death is Real
   •    Jesus is Coming!

One day, every knee will bow & every tongue will confess that He is Lord!  And just like the example of Noah & the Ark in the Bible--when the ark door was shut, it was too late, no one else could get in and they had missed their opportunity--likewise, once Jesus returns, it’s too late to get prepared.  Today is the day to prepare!  Troy concluded by talking about the sense of urgency and giving us 2 questions we all need to ask ourselves:

   •    Am I prepared? Have I put my faith in Him, trusting Him to be Lord of my life?
   •    If I am prepared, do I love the people in my life enough to let them see Jesus in me?

Wow!  A great reminder about the sense of urgency.  It’s so easy to get wrapped up in life and our day to day activities that we forget we are not guaranteed tomorrow.  At Flamingo, we run after it HARD but that’s because there is too much at stake, too many people in our neighborhoods & communities that are so far from God.  I am so honored to be part of a church that is willing to do whatever it takes to see lives eternally changed.  God has given us a very specific & very HUGE vision (50,100,150) at Flamingo, and we will go after it with everything we have!  …Steph
