Innovation Transformation

In our leadership, we can hear innovation transformation based on who we listen to. Non-innovative ears listen to everyone. Often, in our leadership roles, it can feel more spiritual to say, "My door is always open." However, if we listen to everyone, we won't hear anyone. Innovative ears limit who they listen to. The people in our lives have equal value but not eual priority. Sometimes, as we care for the communities we lead, we simply can't listen to everyone in that community. So how do we know who NOT to listen to? We need some kind of criteria. My criteria is to listen to truth tellers who fit into at least one of these categories:

1. People who believe in me

2. People who love me

2. People who have more wisdom than me

Your criteria may be different but make sure you have some kind of system that determines who you will listen to.

Thanking for this teaching today on listening. You are so right on who and what we need to listen for!! I have learned that what works best for me is turning first and only to God each and every morning, have quiet time with him and ask him to show me every hour of each day to listen for him!!! It truly works and I can now live in the presence and hear God completely!!! My spirit is always jumping with enthusiam each day because of what God does for me!! Continues to guide me and keeps opening up new doors!! God is awesome!! And, thank you for him sending me to FRC. A new member as of 11/23/09.
Have a blessed day.

I can't tell you how many times I have taken the criteria of the three people you listen to and implemented it into my own life. I am now even sharing it with my co-workers!

I have resorted to this criteria many times since I first heard it. I have shared it with my team on many occasions too. Number 4 on my list is those who have more ministry experience than me. I find a lot of value in listening to those that have walked before me.
