My Heroes

We started this week with the celebration of Carson’s Birthday… So, why not make it a week where you get to know us a little bit more…  our dreams, our mistakes, and our family.
I thought I would share with you some of my hero’s (some I have met, most I have not) and some of the people I would love to meet.   You can click and learn from some of my hero’s, and maybe there is someone out there that could introduce me to a few of the people I would love to meet.   Just being honest :)

A few Hero’s

  • Dr. Adrian RogersBellevue Baptist Church -He pastored the largest church around when I was growing up.   I met him once for just a moment at the airport in Jacksonville, Florida.   He is now with the Lord, but seeing the things that God did through his life has always been a reminder to me  to DREAM BIG!
  • Dr. John Maxwell – Author/ Leadership guru – Dr. Maxwell was the first person I ever heard talk about how to lead and the impact that leadership has in the life of an organization.   He challenged me to GROW.
  • My Grandma – She loved God.  Some of my best childhood memories are sitting next to grandma and grandpa at church or on special occasions when my brothers and I would spend the night at their house. She loved to play games, and she loved to WIN.

A few of the folks I would love to meet  (By meet, I mean share a meal or a cup of coffee)

  • Pastor Joel OsteenLakewood Church – Pastor Joel is one of those guys who enjoys life, and even in the midst of all the pressure there must be in leading the largest church in America, he still makes the time to LIVE!
  • President Barack Obama – It would be pretty amazing to meet any president, but our current president is the only one in my lifetime that I  have thought about what I would say to him and what questions I would ask.
  • Jack Welch – Former CEO for GE – I loved his book “Winning” and would love to dive a little deeper into the content.
  • Larry Bird –Former MVP, All Star, Boston Celtics – I grew up in the Magic and Bird days, and I was always inspired by Bird’s work ethic and would love to learn more about his motivation for greatness.
  • Cheryl Miller – Former Basketball Star – Cheryl was an amazing basketball player.   She played when basketball was still mostly a man’s sport and yet she stood out.   To hear her wisdom about perseverance and how to stay motivated, in the shadows, would be enlightening I’m sure.

There you have it… a few people that have impacted my life and a few people I would love to meet one day. Who knows???...Troy
